Microsoft Reduce 5000 worker

The giant software company's original United States of America, Microsoft, Thursday (22 / 1), announced perseroannya will reduce to 5,000 workers for 18 months. The economy slowed and the weakening technology spending, create a Microsoft quarterly profit down sharply.

In the second quarter of the budget year closed on December 31, Microsoft says net profit down 11% from a year earlier to be 4.17 billion dollars with the income of 16.63 billion dollars, up 2% from a year earlier.

"Although we are not immune from the impact of the crisis ekonmi, I believe the strength of our product portfolio and sehatnya approach to our business," said Microsoft Chief Executive, Steve Ballmer.

"We will continue to manage costs and investment in long-term opportunities to provide value to customers and shareholders, and we will appear as an industry leader that is strong at this time," he added.

With no good global economic conditions, Microsoft will dismiss up to 5,000 jobs in the Research and Development, marketing, sales, finance, legal and personnel, and information technology during the 18 months ahead, including the 1400 work for the stage now.

Microsoft currently employs 91,000 people and it will menyusutkan about 5.5% of energy in the world.
